Good product

Google Flow Music is not just another disposable prompt-to-song jukebox. By combining Lyria for audio rendering, Gemini for chat-directed production, and Veo for visual generation, it actually operates like a lightweight digital audio workstation. It is not without real friction: niche styles often get smoothed over into radio-pop mush, foreign-language vocals can sound clumsy, and getting Veo to nail frame-accurate beat sync takes patience and retries. Still, for iterative music sketching, stem separation, and rapid audio prototyping, it delivers solid practical value.

Very pissed about this Service. They did an unauthorized withdrawal from my bank account for something I did not order for the price of $72. I didnt order anything from them so I dont know how they did. The name of this service was Google music or something of that nature. I would like my money put back into my account immediately.

Google's own FlowMusic app allows uploading custom songs, but it doesn't let you directly delve into detail changes -- it's more like usable for inspiration, or covering it. It also blocks some songs for copyright.

Honestly, I’m blown away by the sound quality here. The vocals sound so realistic unlike the robotic glitches I get from other apps. Please don’t take away this app! Having alot of success with it. The music video portion needs work though. The different language is pretty accurate too! But some words are mis pronounced. I have so many suggestions to make this a better app!

I started off a 5 star with this but downgrading to a 1. The music generating part is decent, but the music video generation that is supposed to differentiate this from Suno is simply not following prompts correctly at all, costing people thousands of AI credits on wasted generation attempts. It’s almost as if Google is doing it on purpose so you have to keep wasting paid credits like a slot machine to get the video you want. And it has this insistent need to not follow basic things like the aspect ratio you ask, have character lip sync no matter what, or focus on a main character throughout the video you ask in your prompt not to and Flow even in its own confirmation recap back to you says it won’t do but the video still does. Whatever blueprint it used to train itself for launch, they need a fix so it’s your art direction and not this annoying cookie cutter hallucinating AI slop.

Wow, I am really impressed with this app, I have been using it for a few days now. It is feature complete with Flow music web and the app just works. It really is music creation in your pocket and on the go!

Hopefully they actually stick with this idea instead of throwing it in the trash a year or two in like so many other promising apps !

I been having an account on this app since i was 13 and i didn’t have any problems with it however now that i’m 15 years old I tried using my account and it logged me out every time saying their working on letting people under 18 use the app even though it’s a 13+ app

this is stupid. i'm trying to protect my privacy and not get my face or id into a data breach and YOU'RE making it a lot more difficult. don't blame me when your app starts to crumble. AT LEAST put age assurance in the in-app controls list and make it 18+.

It makes me feel better as a software engineer when even Google experiment team launches an app that can’t figure out Google’s sign in call back. I can’t even enter the app because when I try to sign in with my Google account, I get a 400 invalid scope error

Music gen is fine, but editing is super fun, can make weird genre transitions!

No project support to mimic the website makes it difficult to stay organized. Playlists over 50 songs only show 50 songs on the mobile version.

About the tool

Google Flow Music is a cloud-based studio that turns text prompts, audio uploads, and iterative chat into full songs, isolated audio stems, and synced video clips. Developed across Google DeepMind and Google Labs, the platform ties together several dedicated neural engines: Lyria handles the primary audio generation, Gemini acts as a conversational co-producer, and Veo generates matching visuals.

Instead of treating song generation like a one-click slot machine, the interface lets you build and shape compositions piece by piece:

  • Conversational production: chat directly with the virtual co-producer to rewrite lyrics, shift emotional intensity, drop bass weight, or tweak arrangements on the fly.
  • Full-track synthesis: generates cohesive compositions up to 3 minutes with vocal dynamics and layered instrumentation.
  • Waveform editing and stems: isolate stems into vocal, drum, bass, and accompaniment tracks, or highlight sections directly on the waveform to regenerate or extend them.
  • Vibe-code environments: build browser-based audio tools, custom mini-DAWs, and playable instruments through Spaces.
  • AI music videos: render synced music videos using Veo based on track tempo and custom visual prompts.

How it helps you

Google Flow Music cuts out the friction of early-stage music production for several distinct workflows:

  • Songwriters and producers get rapid sketch arrangements, instant stem separation for external DAWs, and fast style transformations.
  • Video editors and content creators can produce custom, rhythm-matched background scores and synced video clips without licensing headaches.
  • Creative developers can prototype interactive web audio tools and browser instruments directly in the browser via Vibe-code.

Pricing

Pros

  • Conversational track editing with Gemini acting as a co-producer
  • Native stem splitting into vocals, drums, bass, and accompaniment
  • Integrated video clip generation synced to track tempo via Veo
  • In-browser creation of interactive audio tools and mini-DAWs via Vibe-code
  • Waveform-level inpainting, track extending, and free downloads

Cons

  • Acoustic averaging tends to flatten non-mainstream genres into commercial pop sounds
  • Single track generations are capped at 3 minutes before requiring extension
  • Non-English vocal output occasionally suffers from phonetic slips and slurred articulation
  • AI music video sync via Veo often requires repeated rerolls to nail down precise framing
  • Inaudible SynthID watermarking is permanently baked into all generated audio

Frequently asked questions

What does the Chat with Producer feature actually do?

It provides a conversational interface powered by Gemini where you can refine arrangements, rewrite song lyrics, adjust vocal pitch, and tweak musical genres through natural dialogue rather than fiddling with technical DAW parameters.

Can I export individual audio stems for external DAWs?

Yes. Google Flow Music features native stem splitting, allowing you to separate finished tracks into isolated layers for vocals, bass, drums, and instruments, which can then be downloaded for mixing in traditional software.

What is the maximum length of a generated song?

A single continuous generation can run up to 3 minutes. To create longer songs or introduce intros and outros, you use the Extend tool to continue the track forward or backward along the timeline.

Are tracks produced on Google Flow Music watermarked?

Yes. Every audio track created on the platform is embedded with SynthID, an imperceptible digital acoustic watermark that identifies the file as AI-generated without compromising sound fidelity.
