About the tool
Consider a typical software deployment pipeline as an execution loop: you write code, trigger a build, publish to production, and the site enters an idle state. In most teams, that idle state turns into progressive decay. Non-technical marketers cannot edit TSX templates or push commits, while routine maintenance—such as updating translations, fixing technical SEO issues, and tracking search algorithm changes—is perpetually delayed because developers are focused on core application logic. While autonomous coding tools like OpenCode focus on generating patches and writing code inside developer environments, Fimo steps in after the website is already built to keep it continuously operational and editable.
Developed by Strapi, Fimo acts as an autonomous website platform and CMS deployed directly on top of your existing Git repository. Instead of forcing you into a proprietary website builder or a disconnected database, it connects to modern frameworks like Next.js, Astro, SvelteKit, and React. Your developers keep their existing toolchains—such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or GitHub Copilot—while the rest of the organization gets a live visual workspace where every change commits back to the underlying repository as clean code.
The system coordinates three key layers:
- Full code ownership: Your website remains standard source code in your own repository, meaning you can export or host it anywhere without vendor lock-in.
- In-place visual editing: Non-technical team members can click directly on page elements in Edit mode or use structured content tables to update text, media, and forms, automatically generating Git commits.
- Isolated agent sandboxes: Autonomous tasks do not run on your live production infrastructure. Every agent execution and user branch gets its own dedicated sandbox with a server, database branch, and asset bucket.
- Scheduled autonomous agents: Background routines handle recurring operational jobs—such as weekly technical SEO audits, GEO adjustments for AI answer engines, and multilingual translations—on customizable schedules or webhooks.
- Studio Inbox review loops: Agents cannot push breaking changes directly to the public web. Every run leaves a diff, preview link, and summary report in the Inbox for explicit human review and approval.
- Multi-model flexibility: Agent logic can be routed across leading model families, including OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, Grok, and DeepSeek.
Fimo operates on a freemium model. The Free tier provides managed edge hosting with SSL, a CDN, and basic quotas for small projects. Upgrading to the usage-based Pay-as-you-go tier or the $149 per month Pro plan expands agent execution hours, analytics retention, and version history. Access is available via a web dashboard and a command-line interface (`fimo` CLI via npx).

Frequently Asked Questions about Fimo
How does Fimo prevent autonomous agents from breaking a production website?
Every autonomous agent runs inside an isolated sandbox equipped with an ephemeral server, database branch, and asset bucket. When an agent finishes drafting content, updating metadata, or translating pages, it generates a pull request branch alongside a visual preview and a diff report. Changes only reach the live production site after a human team member reviews and approves them in the Fimo Studio Inbox.
Do I retain ownership of the website code created or managed in Fimo?
Yes. Fimo operates on top of your existing Git repository rather than locking your project inside a closed builder. Every visual text change, image swap, and agent-generated modification is committed directly to your repository as clean code. While the Fimo platform service itself is proprietary, the underlying codebase remains entirely yours and can be moved to any hosting infrastructure at any time.
What is the difference between AI credits and agent-hours?
AI credits cover model inference costs when running autonomous agents, generating images, or performing edits inside Fimo Studio, priced at 1,000 credits per dollar of hosted AI compute. Agent-hours measure the active compute runtime of the isolated sandbox environments (server, database, and asset storage) while an agent is executing a task. The Free tier includes 5,000 credits and 1 agent-hour each month.
What are the limits of the Free plan, and what payment methods are supported for upgrades?
The permanent Free plan includes up to 3 projects, 3 team members, 5,000 AI credits per month, 1 agent-hour per month, 5 GB of bandwidth, 1 GB of media storage, and 1-day version history. When upgrading to Pay-as-you-go or the Pro plan ($149 per month), payments are processed via Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.
