About the tool
Gamma is a web platform that builds presentations, documents, websites and social carousels from a text prompt. You describe what you need, and it produces a finished draft with layout, structure and images. It's aimed at people who need a working draft in minutes and don't want to spend an evening nudging text boxes around.
Think of it like ordering a meal versus cooking from scratch. In a classic slide editor you buy every ingredient and chop it yourself. In Gamma you say "pitch deck for investors, five key points, confident tone" and get a plate you can season to taste.
What it does
- Generation: presentations, documents, carousels and standalone AI images. You can start from a prompt, dictate it by voice, or begin from a blank page.
- Import: bring in your own material (the web context lists DOCX, PDF, PPTX, Google Docs and Google Slides, plus pulling content from a URL) and let Gamma restructure it.
- Beautify: turns a raw wall of text or a bulleted list into cards, timelines and comparison grids. This is where it saves the most time.
- Agent-style workflow: instead of one-shot generation, it can ask about your goal, audience and tone, propose an outline, and write and lay out the content only after you approve the plan. After that you can edit in plain language, either locally ("shorten this block") or globally ("change the color palette").
- Images: built-in AI image generation and editing. According to the site, OpenAI's image model is part of the image toolkit.
- Live embeds: according to the web context, you can embed working content such as YouTube, Loom, Miro, Kahoot, Google Docs and dashboards, not just static screenshots.
- Sharing and publishing: shared files, folders, comments, and publishing as a web page. On higher plans you can publish to your own domains and remove the Gamma branding.
- Export: PDF, PPTX and PNG, plus a Google Slides sync.
How the pricing works: credits Every generation spends credits, like minutes on a prepaid phone plan. Images and lots of agent iterations burn them faster, and users say so. The free plan gives you 400 credits, and the web context adds a cap of 10 cards per request. Paid plans (all prices per seat per month):
- Plus, €10: 1,000 monthly credits, up to 100 slides per request, Gamma branding removed.
- Pro, €24: 4,000 credits, premium image models, custom branding, detailed analytics, up to 10 custom domains, API access.
- Ultra, €86: 20,000 credits, access to the most advanced text, image and video models, up to 100 custom domains, early access to new features.
- Business, €35: 10,000 credits per seat, SSO, SOC 2 documentation on request. It is billed annually (€420 per seat).
- Enterprise: custom contract with SCIM, connector and API management, priority support, and translation and brand-promotion services.
For developers and teams There is an API for generating content programmatically. The web context also describes automation connectors (Make, Zapier, n8n and others) and MCP support, though those specifics come from the web context rather than the pricing page.
Where it fits Many all-in-one AI platforms, such as Klyra AI, AiWriteArt and TeraBox, treat presentations as one module among chat, images and audio. Gamma is built around this one job: decks, documents and sites, plus the layout and publishing around them. If you want a general-purpose agent that also does research, spreadsheets and code, Kimi is the closer match, and its slides are just one part of a wider toolset.
Honest caveats
- The card-based layout is not a fixed-size slide. PPTX export can shift columns or text blocks, so expect manual cleanup if your company enforces a strict PowerPoint template.
- If you need rigid A4/Letter print layout, the card format is a poor fit.
- Credits run out quickly if you generate lots of images or iterate a lot.
- The newest major version of the platform is labeled beta on the site.
- The interface is available in many languages, including English, Russian, Spanish, German, French and Japanese. It is available on the web and via API.
Best for: consultants, marketers, salespeople, teachers and startup teams who need decent-looking drafts fast and are happy to polish the result themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions about Gamma
Is Gamma free, and what happens when credits run out?
There is a permanent free plan with 400 credits. Every generation, redesign and image spends credits. The free plan also limits each request to a small number of cards (10, according to the web context). When credits run out, you move to a paid plan: Plus at €10 per month gives 1,000 credits and up to 100 slides per request, and Pro at €24 gives 4,000 credits. Business, Ultra and Enterprise plans are for heavier or team use.
Can I open Gamma files in PowerPoint?
Yes. Gamma exports to PPTX and PDF, and also PNG and a Google Slides sync. Note that Gamma is built on flexible web cards, not fixed slides. The web context warns that PPTX export can break columns or shift text blocks, so plan a few minutes of manual cleanup if the file has to look identical in PowerPoint.
Does Gamma have an API, and which plan includes it?
Yes, an API is available and confirmed by the developer. On the pricing page, API access is listed starting from the Pro plan (€24 per seat per month). It lets you generate content programmatically, and the web context also mentions automation connectors and MCP support. API calls spend credits, the same as work in the interface.
What does Gamma do with my data, and how can I pay?
The privacy and terms documents that were reviewed do not clearly say whether user content is used to train models, so check the current policy before uploading confidential material. Business plans offer SSO and SOC 2 documentation on request. You can pay by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Discover, Diners Club, UnionPay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link or iDEAL. The developer is Gamma Tech, Inc., based in the United States.
